Video Game Legends: Lylat Midnight

I had often wondered what it would be like to orchestrate a space opera. I had ideas of being along side John Williams once and just watch him work. It was a silly dream but now that I have similar tools and orchestras at my fingertips, it may not be so far fetched as I thought. Star Fox is one of my favorite soundtracks because I feel that the soundtrack is deeply rooted in cinematic spectacle. Each song from the classic Nintendo 64 title has found its way in every remake and soundtrack compilation on the internet. Although the SNES version has some catchy tunes, I will be pulling a lot from the N64 versions. I felt it was time to take on a different take to the series and produce something that was cinematic but had plenty of bite to it.

The Lylat System

As the forces of Andros scatter, the calm skies only hide a more sinister army. The Noid, those who could cross worlds and meld universes, have judged The Lylat System unfit to hold life and seek to burn it from existence so as to allow room for other universes to grow and thrive. Fox and his band of rouge mercenaries embark on a journey to the center of the Noid homeward, “Midnight”.
